One month later...

Well, it's been almost a month since I've updated this, sooo here we go...

Nothing too exciting has been going on. Same routines for us. I'm spending the weekend cleaning and working on school work. Casey is outside working on his truck. He says he should get it done this weekend, so we will see.. Earlier today we met Jenn and her hubby at the 'fake dog park' to hang out for a bit. Chilly, but fun. Since it's been so muddy at the dog park recently we use the basketball court behind our house to let the dogs run around. They can do that, our hubby's can play basketball, and Jenn and I can just chit chat :)

I've become addicted to Pinterest. If you don't know what that is, you should look it up and get one. I've been finding a bunch of neat crafts and recipes. Today I tried an easy recipe using pretzels, hershey kisses hugs, and M&Ms. It's pretty delicious. Thinking about making oreo truffles or chocolate chip cookie dough truffles sometime soon...

Still trying to decide how I want to rearrange my house and decorate. It's hard to do without the help of my hubby, so it's going to be a slow process. Thinking we need to get this 300 lbs. 'entertainment center' out of here first.. Dunno why we agreed to take that in the first place. Oh yeah I do.. it was free.. lol

Casey and I have become 'regulars' at the restaurant called Andy's here in town. We go almost every weekend. The same girl is always there working and she knows what we order by now. Each time we go, our check seems to become less expensive. So I think that means she likes us ;) We're even a part of the special regulars club, with our own card which lets us earn free meals after going so many times. Hehe. I enjoy that we have our usual dates nights at the same place. It's kind of cool :)

Today was my Pastor's memorial service.. I really wish I could have been home to go. But the important thing was that I thought about him today. I wrote something short and sent it with my Mom to give to the family. All of the kids from the church that went through Confirmation with Rev. King stood up and recited his favorite verse during the service today. I was supposed to be a part of that group. Rest in peace, Rev. King.

Crazy week..

Well this week has been pretty crazy..

On Wednesday, I found out that my pastor was in a car accident and did not survive. It's weird that you don't notice just how much a person has impacted your life until they are gone. I mean, I knew he impacted my life in some way, but I guess I didn't recognize how much.. He was a great man. I sat through many of his services throughout my life, 2 years of confirmation with him, youth group, and I knew him outside of the church as well. I'm very thankful that he got to marry Casey and I in 2010. He took time out of his busy Christmas Eve holiday just for us. I'll never forget that.

We also had to take Chloe to the vet on Friday. She has a bloody knot/bump on her neck that just keeps getting bigger. They gave us antibiotics for that. She's also been limping around the house lately, and holding her paw up in the air which is so sad to see. Apparently she sprained one of her muscles. So we got meds for that as well and were told that she needs to stay calm for the next 10 days to give it time to heal. So far staying calm hasn't been going so well..lol she has way too much energy.

Casey and I went to Raleigh yesterday. We walked around the mall for a bit.. didn't buy anything. But we are thinking about buying a tv stand/entertainment center and rearranging our living room a bit. So now we're excited to work on the house! Hopefully people will come visit and see what we've done :) Casey and I also went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner. We love that place. We got $150 in gift cards plus 5 free pieces of cheesecake! So we needed to use those :)

I am almost done with the anatomy portion of my classes for school. I've got one more chapter to read and the video to watch. The I'll take the final exam. I'll probably stay up tonight and finish the last chapter. Then it's on to the Pharmacy section! I'm not too worried since my dad is a Pharmacist and can hopefully answer my questions if I need help :)

Update on Casey working on the truck... He only worked on it today. I can't remember what he was doing out there, but it wasn't putting the truck back together. So another week without my car... lol

I don't think I have anything specific to look forward to these next few weeks.. not until people hopefully come visit me on their spring breaks.. :) !!!! Hopefully it works out.

I guess I do have the Mollie Gross show to look forward to next week. Maybe. I currently don't have anyone to go with. So I don't know if I'll be going..

Avoiding school work :)

This past weekend wasn't too bad. I watched movies on TV and did my school work all weekend. I got to watch Richie Rich, Holes, and Dennis The Menace.. haven't seen those in a while. Hubby worked on his truck, and was wonderful enough to pay attention to my car as well. So my car is completely clean inside and out! We watched a few movies together as well, 11. 11. 11. which was stupid lol.. and True Grit. And even though we have started exercising and eating better, he took me to Andy's to get some ice cream! I pretty much love Andy's, sooo if anyone needs someone to go with please call me. ;) My husband is more into the eating better thing than me, so who knows how much we will actually go there now.

Speaking of eating better and working out.. So far it has sucked for me. Lol. I'm eating better, working out a little bit, and I'm gaining like a pound a day. I'm not happy at all. When I ate whatever I wanted I couldn't gain weight to save my life. This is crap. Casey went running this weekend and I decided to follow along on my bike. I couldn't keep up with him and I made it about 15 min before I had to stop thanks to my asthma. Other than that, walking around the neighborhood, and doing maybe 20 min of exercises at home.. I've done nothing. So it can't be the fact that I'm gaining muscle. AHHH. I just want to cry. I want to eat nothing ever again. And I want to walk. All day. Hooray for my husband though.. he's lost like 3 pounds in a week..

Casey asked me if I wanted to go to Cheesecake Factory this weekend since he has a 72 (72 = 3 days off work). First time in my life I hesitated about wanting to go because I already feel like a cow :( Lol.. so we will see if I give in or not... It would be nice to go to a real mall and spend some Christmas money though..

Speaking of money.. The mailman finally dropped off all our mail that we had them hold for the 2 weeks we were in Ohio. It was like Christmas all over again opening up all the freebies! I got a $15 Target gift card AND my $50 prepaid gift card that I won! So for you wives or whoever has free time and likes free stuff.. look into signing up for freebies/playing games to win stuff. It is AWESOME. :)

What else can I rant about.. Oh, I finally went and got my military ID. It has been lost for 2 months so it's about time I got another one. I won't mention who lost it or how it got lost.. >.> lol Anyway, Casey wanted me to get up early to get it done today because he just couldn't miss PT in the afternoon.. So not used to getting up early. We get there and the system is down nationwide, so we had to wait for an hour or so.. See I knew, in the back of my mind, he should have just gotten off work early instead of making me get up and do it in the morning.. :P

Guess it's time to get back to school work... Almost done with the anatomy section!

It's Finally Friday..!!

Hello, weekend! Even though it's going to consist of my husband working on his truck all weekend, I'm glad he will at least be home! I guess I will be working on school work most of the weekend..

But today when Casey gets home, we're gonna take a trip to the mall in New Bern. I took my wedding rings to Kay's in Ohio and found out my center diamond is loose :( So I have to give it up for a few weeks to get it fixed. Gonna have to find a ring to replace it with for a while because it's going to feel so weird without one there!

The past few days have consisted of what our usual weekdays tend to look like. Casey goes to work, I clean around the house and do school work. Casey comes home from work, we eat dinner and then he goes to bed. Lol. So exciting. Chloe got in big trouble last night though.. She has started digging holes in our backyard. She won't do it when Casey takes her out, but apparently she knows I'm not the mean one and won't punish her as much as Casey will.. so she digs every time I take her out. Casey caught her doing it yesterday and oh boy, it was game on. He yelled at her and she of course was afraid to come to him so she ran all over the backyard and the house to get away from him :( He finally got her and jerked her outside.. They came back inside and she went straight to her cage. He looked at me and said, "Don't worry she's OK" and I just started crying. Lol. Which made him feel bad. I can't help it! I WANT him to punish her, but every time he does I cry. I'm going to be a mess when we have kids..

I guess nothing else exciting is going on.. I did try our new bread maker my parents got us for Christmas though! I made wheat bread and it tasted delicious! So thanks, Mom and Dad :)

Christmas in Ohio and welcoming a New Year

Alright, I'm officially going to start blogging as much as I can! A lot of girls around here do it and it's so much fun to read everyone's blogs. So even though my life isn't too exciting, I'm going to give it a try! It will at least be nice for my family who lives back in Ohio to read. I'm still trying to figure it all out, so my layout may change eventually :)

The past two weeks have been pretty great for Casey and I. We got to go home to Ohio and spend the holidays with family and friends. It had only been a few months since I had been home, but it had been almost 6 months for Casey. So he enjoyed being home for a while. I'm so thankful that I have such great family and friends!! I love you all, and I'm so glad I got to see most of you more than once! As much as we enjoyed being home, I think Casey and I both missed our separate life with just the two of us in NC. So we are very glad to be back!

We just got back last night around 9:30, so today I was pretty lazy. I did come up with a few new year's resolutions though:

I want to meet some more girls and actually hang out with them! I've been here for 6 months and still don't know very many people. The fact that I'm pretty shy holds me back and I hate it. I'm friends with a bunch of girls on facebook, but none of them seem like they really hang out with others much. I've also been told that a lot of girls here just love drama, so I've been hesitant to meet people. I absolutely do not like drama, and don't want any part of it. So if any girls read this and want to make another friend, I like to think I'm a pretty genuine person :)

Casey and I also decided we're going to start eating healthy and exercise. We both want to lose weight. I know I am not even close to being overweight, but I have noticed that I've gained weight and I'm not too happy about it. I think my metabolism is finally slowing down which sucks! I've never had to worry about my weight. But it will be good for me to start eating healthier so my body will be in good shape when we want to start having kids ;) We went grocery shopping today for some stuff, and I think it went pretty well.. It's going to be a challenge for me though because I don't really like healthy foods. Wish me luck!

Like I said earlier, I was pretty lazy today. My love had his first day back to work in two weeks so he was pretty sore and tired when he got home. He was super awesome though and ran over to the ITT building and got me tickets to see MOLLIE GROSS at the end of the month before they ran out! I'm so excited!

I think that's a pretty good start to my blogging! I guess now I'll get ready for bed with the hubby!
